Semi Permanent FAQs

What is Semi-Permanent Makeup (PMU)?

Semi-Permanent Makeup is a cosmetic tattooing treatment designed to enhance features such as the eyebrows, lips, and eyeliner. Pigment is implanted into the skin to create long-lasting, natural looking results.

How long does Semi-Permanent Makeup last?

Results typically last between 1–3 years, depending on factors such as skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure, and skincare products. Periodic colour boost appointments are recommended to maintain your results.

Does PMU hurt?

Most clients find the treatment very manageable. A topical anaesthetic is used throughout the procedure to maximise comfort.

Will I need more than one appointment?

Yes. An initial treatment is followed by a perfecting session approximately 6 weeks later to refine the shape, colour, and overall result once the area has healed.

What is the healing process like?

The treated area may appear darker and more defined immediately after treatment. As the skin heals, the colour will soften and settle into a more natural appearance over the following weeks.

Can I choose the shape and colour?

Absolutely. Every treatment is fully customised to suit your facial features, skin tone, and desired outcome. A full consultation and design process is completed before treatment begins.

Is Semi-Permanent Makeup suitable for everyone?

Suitability will be assessed during your consultation. Certain medical conditions, medications, or skin conditions may affect your eligibility for treatment.

Should I avoid caffeine before my appointment?

Yes. We recommend avoiding caffeine, energy drinks, and alcohol for at least 24 hours before your appointment where possible. These can increase sensitivity, bleeding, and make it more difficult for pigment to implant evenly, which may affect your results. Full pre-treatment instructions will be provided before your appointment.
